Cao lầu at Bà Bé's, the one behind the market
Bà Bé's been making it for forty years. The noodles are only made in Hoi An — the water comes from an old Cham well. No English menu, no Google listing, half the price of the tourist places.
Ask Minh about this.
A Dutch couple booked My Son one morning in 2019. Then the typhoon hit — the road became a river. Most drivers would have cancelled. I said: come back tomorrow. Today we go to my mother's house. She made fish sauce that week. The smell is not for everyone. They stayed for four hours. They still send me a Christmas card.
Chú Tâm's pottery kiln, past Thanh Ha village
A kilometre further than the guidebook pottery village. Chú Tâm fires twice a week and lets kids touch the wet clay. $4 for a mug you'll keep for twenty years. I have eleven in my own kitchen.
“I'm not a tour guide. I'm the guy your cousin would introduce you to if your cousin lived in Hoi An.”
A handful of where he might take you.

You'll probably like these two.
